SB140 has been signed by Governor Cox in order to amend provisions relating to pharmacies that operate through or contract with a federally qualified health center. This law helps regulate PBMs by prohibiting certain actions by a PBM or third party with respect to 340B discount drug programs.

SB 177 amends provisions related to pharmacy practice, including requirements for pharmacy technician licensing and administration of injectables by pharmacists. This new law also amends provisions surrounding auditing and strengthens existing fair pharmacy audit laws by increasing the number of acceptable documents that may be used to validate a particular claim.

The Utah Pharmacy Practice Act has been modified through HB178 with main provisions including: amending the definition of pharmacy practice to include: issuing prescriptions for certain drugs and devices and defining these types of drugs and devices that can be prescribed by a pharmacist. These modifications have been approved and signed by Governor Cox.
