PioneerRx is continually aligned with award-winning innovation, as seen in the Health Mart awards delivered at McKesson ideaShare last month. The awards identify the top-performing independent pharmacies and their achievements. Five out of the seven pharmacies recognized, including Pharmacy of the Year, have chosen PioneerRx Pharmacy Software to power their success.
“We are proud to collaborate with such innovative leaders in independent pharmacy. It is inspiring to see our software being used in order to make a difference in healthcare.” -Jeff Key, President of PioneerRx
All businesses recognized are doing their part to Save + Revitalize Independent Pharmacy. Below are some highlights of how these pharmacies are paving the way to healthier communities:
Trumm Drug was chosen for this prestigious award due to its success in patient care, hospital partnerships, community involvement, and marketing initiatives.
This family pharmacy, currently run by Aaron Finley and Allan Fettig, has been serving its community for nearly 70 years and continues to prove the power of personalized care and industry involvement.
“Pioneer made our program a lot easier and a lot more successful”, Finley remarks.
Toledo Family Pharmacy is a leader in efficiency and innovation, making strides by reducing DIR fees, using collaborative practice agreements, supporting employee health, and offering fellowships.
Owner Hussein El-Khatib attributes a great deal of their success to PioneerRx’s integrated med sync feature: “Sync is a must-have in our pharmacy. It’s not even an option.”
Toledo focuses on constantly implementing new services and techniques based on the current healthcare landscape.
Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy has demonstrated creativity by finding fresh ways to market its business and refine its outreach to the community.
Parkland’s lighthearted social media presence and fun partnership events are just a few ways it sets itself apart and boosts brand awareness.
Owner Lisa Umfleet says that changing software systems was a difficult decision, but “Pioneer continues to evolve with the needs of the industry which is important to me as a business owner”.
Buena Vista Drug excels in synchronization and with nearly 300 patients in med sync, they can save time and focus on quality patient counseling.
They are constantly looking for extra services to implement in order to meet all of their customer’s needs, such as point-of-care testing and counseling.
Owner Lucas Smith admits that “the most challenging thing is how to work these services into your workflow, so make sure you reach out to your vendors when you have questions.”
Section Health Mart Pharmacy has taken an active role in promoting the health of its community through actions such as offering free vaccines during an outbreak and hosting a monthly mobile unit that provides free routine screenings.
Owner Derrell Massey also serves on multiple Alabama pharmacy boards.
According to PIC Monica Payne, Section has chosen PioneerRx because “Pioneer is evolving with the nature of our industry and it’s the only solution that provides us with all of the tools we need to better serve our customers and patients.”
