Micah Lansford calls close-knit Clovis, NM home. In a small town like this one, friends are family and strangers are neighbors — and Micah considers caring for his neighbors his highest calling. Micah runs Roden-Smith Pharmacy, a family-owned business bought by his father, Dr. David Lansford, back in 1996. Since he got started, Micah has made it his mission to keep Roden-Smith Pharmacy up-to-date with the latest technology, trends, and innovative clinical services. Today, Micah focuses on medication synchronization and helps patients improve outcomes by way of adherence. In this position, Micah proves that you can have the best of both worlds: being innovative and intentional with patients.

Micah Lansford is a pharmacist and second generation owner of Roden-Smith Pharmacy in Clovis, NM. He is a 2011 Graduate from Texas Tech University and 2015 Graduate from Creighton University School of Pharmacy. He has flipped every aspect of the pharmacy since 2015, starting with conversion to PioneerRx in August 2015. He has over 3,000 patients enrolled in Med Sync, and plans to have over 4,000 before Connect 2020. Med Sync has opened doors to financial, workflow and time efficiencies at Roden-Smith that continue to make being a pharmacist more enjoyable and impactful each day.

Med Sync: Getting Past the Tipping Point

Med sync requires a lot of work up front, but once you get to the tipping point - that’s when the hard work pays off. That tipping point is when you start to see a shift in the amount of work you’re putting in, and the time-saving benefits of med sync start to kick in. In order to get to this point, we have to flip the narrative. We have to remember that med sync shouldn’t feel like an upsell. We have to convince ourselves, our staff, and our patients of the true value it provides. And once you get that buy-in, you’ll be on your way to the tipping point.
